As an answer to the industry's quest for technical development
in filmmaking, this year's showcase introduces cutting edge
SFX and digital technology. At BIFCOM2009, the latest VFX,
VR, CGI, 3D graphic, and digital restoration techniques will
be demonstrated. It is a great opportunity to experience new
technologies that are destined to facilitate and lead in innovation
in the industry.

Sony (Japan) - Presentation on the development of the Digital Cinmea Camcorder SRW-9000
The presentation will be based on the development and workflow of the SRW-9000 SONY digital cinema camcorder. The SRW-9000 is expected to garner the same attention as HDW-F900/F900R and F23/F35, which is in the same CineAlta lineup, all of which was used for television programs such as 'Fashion 70', 'Tae Wang Sha Shingi' and in the recent blockbuster film 'Hae Un Dae'. The camera is expected to gain much attention in areas diverse as film, television programs and advertisement.

HIT Lab NZ Ltd. is a leader in developing interaction experiences, including 3D mobile augmented reality and other image processing techniques. HIT Lab's CEO, Andrew Plimmer, will discuss how mobile technology can be used to engage youth into media properties and discuss the ways in which different forms of media can be integrated into a story telling experience.

- Scratch recognition/removal technology, subtitle removal on old films/ focus realignment technology, screen stabilization correction technology and screen restoration technology will be presented.

NT Research (Korea) - Radio controlled animatronix technology
The animatronic robot of NT Research is able to replace human actors when partaking in dangerous scenes involving falling down, collission and fire. Due to natural robotic motion and ultra real makeup, it is possible to depict the robot closely to a human actor.

FXGear (Korea) - Structure and building explosion effects using CG technology
Explosion, flames, smoke and water elemental special effects using in-house produced FluX technology, in-house produced costume simulation software, Qualoth, used in movies 'The Restless', 'Shrek 3', 'Monster VS. Aliens', 'The Sword with No Name' and hair simulation software, FXHairs will also be presented.

Macrograph (Korea) - Technical R&D in
Macrograph : Crowd, Interactive Relighting, VeinNet
The results and general direction of Macrograph's mid, long term R&D project will be presented. These will be crowd simulation based on hydraulic simulation, GPU based interactive relighting for effective rendering system and VeinNet, a pipeline management tool for the asset and HR management of companies. Also technologies such as in-shot motion capture system, which started R&D 2-3 years ago, and matter capture system for realistic rendering will also be introduced.
